About the Artist

Helen Evans' art is bursting with exuberant colour and texture realised in acrylic on board. Her practice is concerned with landscape and botanical imagery. All Helen's work starts with observational drawing on location developing into lushly layered paintings in the studio. Helen aims to evoke a particular sense and spirit of place through disrupted realism.

Helen is a full-time artist and tutor, working and teaching from her purpose-built studio set on 9 rural acres. Originally from the NE of England, Helen completed her BA and MA in Textiles at Manchester Metropolitan University. She lived and worked in Bermuda for many years and now lives in Cedar Creek on the north side of Brisbane.text goes here
