Art Academy - 9-16 years

with Daina McCauley

Enrolments are now open for students to enrol in our 2025 after school art program! We are excited to offer this opportunity to encourage young people in the community when it comes to creativity and art exploration. Students will enjoy guided tours of different mediums and techniques that they can then develop and evolve into their own unique expression. These classes will be held on Thursday afternoons during school term from 4pm - 5.30pm where teacher Daina McCauley will demonstrate to students different mediums and techniques to create masterpieces of their own. Throughout the term as a group, students will work in pencil, paint, pen, collage, print making, mixed media and sculptural mediums such a playdoh (which we use as paint!). We will cover techniques involved in capturing still life, portraits, animals and much more, exploring contemporary artists from all over the world.

Daina’s art classes are designed to create a fun space for kids to explore their creativity and imaginations. Daina loves to allow children to lead the way when it comes to their art, without too much overt instruction, helping with techniques and skills when required… but allowing them the space to explore and experiment, to find their own unique artistic expression. Students will come away with strong foundations and techniques, whilst ensuring they feel supported to experiment as much as possible. This is where the magic happens.
