Lisa Jones
Lisa Jones or 'JONESY' lives in Eumundi with her husband Trevor, sheepadoodle dog Roland and 26 Alpacas. She studied creative portraiture at the Brisbane Institute of Art and has continued her practice since, mainly working in acrylic on canvas or polycotton. Lisa also has created a collection of colourful and interesting enamel earrings with venetian glass embellishments in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Her current portrait collection is titled “The Long Lunch”. They are intensely quirky and colourful caricature’s that depict her funny take on humanity. With the intention of bringing joy and laughs from the observer her success is evident when watching the faces of the patrons of the gallery.
Her ladies are quite often “flipping the bird” and their nonchalant expressions and varieties of sea animals or birdlife reclining on their heads and or shoulders, lightens the mood and allows you to take life a little less seriously. I think we all need a little 'Jonesy' right now.
