About the Artist

Zoe Willey is an emerging Australian artist currently based on the Sunshine Coast. Portraiture has formed the foundation of her practice, where her core objective is capturing the intangible essence of her subject, whilst remaining truthful to physical form. She approaches still life, landscapes and ‘houseportraits’ with the same philosophy, employing a painterly style at the intersection of impressionism and realism.

Zoe’s landscapes often explore the relationship between built and natural environments, interwoven with themes of nostalgia and identity. Her still life work seeks to highlight the simple beauty that can be found within small scenes and quiet moments.
