Curl/snail vines are extraordinary in their variety of shapes and colours. Yet, they seem to have been relegated to an ordinary status. They are hard to buy and often found growing over a back fence in a laneway. Much like morning glory or chokos. They don’t seem to be a front yard flower. I love to paint their complexity of colours and shapes, but also to highlight the diversity in garden plants available in heritage varieties.
