This collection of paintings represents 3 current themes that Claire is pursuing. Her obsession with tomatoes; her observations of people in cafés and public spaces; and thoughts around gardens, biodiversity and food production.
Tomatoes in great numbers are so evocative. There’s an expectation of food and flavour. The heritage varieties are each unique in colour and shape and marvelously improbable and bursting. They’re like ornaments but also personalities.
