Seashell Blue

Finding quiet beauty in the everyday, Heidi O'Brien creates contemporary Australian still life paintings inspired by the natural rhythms of coastal Queensland. Her thoughtfully observed works centre on shells and found coastal objects, where subtle shifts in light, tone and texture transform simple subjects into moments of calm reflection. Based in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Heidi is a self taught artist whose creative practice has evolved through curiosity, intuition and a lifelong connection to nature. Inspired by changing tides, shifting light and the coastal landscape, she approaches each painting with an instinctive process, allowing colour, texture and composition to unfold organically. With a restrained palette and gentle sense of atmosphere, Heidi's paintings celebrate the quiet poetry of everyday objects. Thoughtful, contemporary and deeply meditative, her original artworks invite viewers to slow down, breathe and reconnect with the beauty found in life's simplest moments.
