Leah Gay
Leah Gay paints for the joy of surprising and delighting people by drawing attention to the beautiful details in our natural world. Using a combination of mediums Leah’s artwork includes acrylic, gouache, machine embroidery, pencil, oil pastel and collage.
Whether she is painting the flowing tides of the local seaside, the rolling hills of far-off places or the delicate details of native flowers, the artwork is filled with colour, textures and beautiful lines, exuding a sense of peace and joy.
Based on the northside of Brisbane by Moreton Bay, time spent away from the easel involves running a fine art supplies and custom picture framing business with her husband and their 7 year old son.
Leah has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Brisbane. In 2019 she won the People’s Choice Award for the 40th Rotary Art Spectacular Brisbane and the 7th Annual 4017 Community Art Show.
Leah’s work can be found in private collections around the world including Canada, USA, England, Sweden, Norway and Australia.
