While exploring the interaction and connection between water, light, and form, the quest for refuge, quietness, and escapism feature heavily. These paintings explore the lone swimmer and a few minutes of introspection. Predominantly a figurative painter, Amanda is on a personal quest to paint light. The constant struggle between hyper-realism and having a painterly quality to my work is a conflict I always try to balance; therefore, thick paint and evident brush strokes are present when viewed up close.
