Artists Statement
My work as been an ongoing conversation between the seen and the felt, the whimsical and the psychological. Through colour-saturated, painterly surfaces, I weave narratives in which animal, plants and objects step into human roles - becoming mirrors for our emotions, quirks and contradictions. Symbolism serves as my visual language, inviting viewers to decipher stories that are both personal and universal.
I cover each surface with large, gestural brushstrokes, allowing movement and energy to seep into every corner. The act of painting becomes a performance - intuitive, physical and immersive.
While painting remains at its heart, I have recently returned to earlier passions in collage and photography, reimagining them on raw linens, sometimes un-stretched, to embrace impermanence and material honestly. These works reflect an expanded approach to storytelling -layered, tactile and suggestive of fragments unearthed.
