Sophie Farquhar
-
Sophie Farquhar is a contemporary artist based in Noosa. Her work sits between abstraction and observation, celebrating the often overlooked moments of everyday life.
Sophie loves colour and details within layers that peer through a painting over time.
Her paintings are imbued with a sense of light, space, joy and quiet contemplation.
The storytelling that unfolds within her paintings is a snapshot of Sophie’s experiences, thoughts and quest to live happily. She’s influenced by her seaside, bushland landscape and the comfort and character in everyday objects.
Always a painter, Sophie studied Abstraction at the Byron School Of Art in 2017 and was an ‘Unearthed’ finalist in 2024 with Art To Art Gallery in Melbourne. In 2025 Sophie exhibited in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and was a finalist for two Corner Store Gallery prizes.
