With Grace

Sophie Farquhar paints with an instinctive freedom that is unmistakably her own. Working from her Noosa studio, Sophie's original paintings move effortlessly between abstraction and observation, balancing expressive mark making with moments of quiet recognition. Rather than documenting the world around her, she distils experiences, memories and everyday encounters into layered compositions that invite curiosity and reward repeated viewing. Each work reveals something new over time, as colour, texture and subtle details gradually emerge. Living by the coast, surfing and spending time immersed in the natural landscape profoundly shape Sophie's creative process. The rhythm of the ocean, changing light and a deep appreciation for both bush and beach are woven through her work, creating paintings that feel intuitive, spacious and emotionally resonant without ever being literal. Committed exclusively to original works, Sophie approaches every painting as a unique exploration rather than a repeated formula. Her distinctive visual language continues to evolve while remaining unmistakably her own, reflecting an artist driven by curiosity, authenticity and a desire to create work with lasting presence.
