In It Together II

Some artists visit the coast for inspiration. Prudence lives it. Shaped by a life spent surfing, free diving and observing the ever changing Australian coastline, her contemporary paintings capture the quiet confidence, movement and emotional connection that only comes from knowing the ocean intimately. Growing up in rural Victoria, Prudence's most treasured memories were made at her family's beach house, where a lifelong connection to the sea first took hold. Today, living on the Australian coastline, she continues to draw inspiration from its remarkable landscapes, native wildlife and ever changing moods, creating paintings that reflect both the beauty and complexity of the ocean. Working intuitively, Prudence explores themes of calm, solitude, strength, vulnerability and belonging. Her paintings are less about depicting a particular place and more about expressing the emotional experience of being by the water. Layered with atmosphere and movement, each work invites viewers to reconnect with the ocean in their own way, whether through memory, adventure or quiet reflection. For Prudence, the ocean is complex, essential and for everyone. That philosophy lies at the heart of her practice, inspiring contemporary Australian coastal artworks that celebrate not only the beauty of the sea but the deep and personal connections it creates.
