Afternoon Skies

There is a quiet familiarity woven through Meg's paintings. Whether capturing wide rural landscapes, country towns or thoughtfully arranged still lifes, her work reflects the comfort, peace and nostalgia found in the places we return to time and again. Based in Brisbane, Meg draws inspiration from time spent living in rural central Queensland and from family adventures exploring Australia's country towns and coastlines. These experiences continue to shape her work, inspiring paintings that celebrate open space, gentle light and the understated beauty of everyday places. Working in acrylic on canvas, Meg builds richly layered surfaces with expressive brushwork and texture, creating artworks that evoke atmosphere as much as place. Rather than documenting a specific location, her paintings capture the emotions and memories we associate with it, inviting viewers to reconnect with moments of calm in an increasingly busy world. Since 2022, Meg's work has been featured in galleries across Queensland and exhibited at art shows and regional gift shops throughout Australia. Her original paintings continue to resonate with collectors who are drawn to their warmth, familiarity and enduring sense of tranquillity.
