Megan’s recent collection of lino prints have been inspired by local native wildlife and coastal ecosystems of the Sunshine Coast region, which are particularly full of life and beautiful to explore over summer. 

The Yellow-tailed black cockatoo features in several works along with other iconic Australian birds found in this region. 

Inspired by stories of connection with local wildlife and landscapes, Megan captures the detail of these birds along with the habitat on which they depend. She explores the subtle messages we can receive when we slow down and tune in, along with the beauty and diversity of these species and the places they (and we) call home. These works invite audiences to reflect on the interconnectedness of nature and the depth of our relationship with the wild.   

Megan Ruby Lee is an emerging Australian printmaker currently creating on Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi country on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.   

Megan specialises in linocut printmaking and has a background in environmental science and conservation, which she often draws on and weaves into the stories of her creations. 

Through her works she explores the themes of interconnectedness, spirituality, community and personal wellbeing, and environmental conservation, and celebrates the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world. 

Megan’s intention through her work, is to inspire more appreciation of the depth and beauty of nature, and invite audiences to question their role and responsibility in its protection, healing, and care.
